It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I love this set. Scott's former boss gave this to us our first Christmas together. She passed away last year and I'm so grateful for this special gift to remind us of Margaret, we'll always love her and miss visiting her in her office. She is such a special person to us and always took very good care of us.
And here's my amazing husband, hanging lights on our home.

Soccer 2011
This was the first time we had all three boys involved in a sport. Jack's first sport ever! Thankfully all three were playing soccer, so the schedules aligned. It made for some busy past few weeks, but so great for the boys' self esteem and exercise.
Brad had an amazing season. He scored a goal during 5 out of the 6 games. His skill level was tons greater than his last season. I didn't know he could run that fast! We're so glad that his asthma is finally under control so it doesn't get in the way of him doing these types of activities.
Jared improved tremendously this season from last. It was amazing to see the skill develop in him. He got better at having and keeping control of the ball and was an awesome goalie! Scott and I coached his team this season and had so much fun. This age of kids is so much fun!
Jack had a great season. He loved being out on the field. He was the kid running down field and waving. His best buddies were on his team with him, during one practice, he wouldn't participate because they were doing a scrimage game and his best friend Devin was put on the opposing team. So the coach put them on the same team and all was well again. His favorite was the snack after the game and then the cherry on top was his trophy. He carried it around with him all day and showed it to us several times.
We are so very proud of all three of our soccer players.

We really got to know this set of elders who served in our ward. They are very friendly and so much fun to hang out with. They had such strong testimonies and worked harder than any other set of missionaries I've seen. My boys loved to have them over and see them at church, I am so grateful for their example to my future missionaries. The one standing next to Scott was going home a few days after this picture was taken. His last Sunday at church, his tie and Jack's were very similar. Jack was so excited to match with Elder Cichy! We miss you Elder Cichy!

The boys' school did a Drug Free Red Ribbon Week. On the last day, the boys had a "crazy hair" "dress in red" day. I wasn't sure about how my boys looked, I thought maybe we went a little overboard, until I picked them up from school and saw that most teh kids and teachers were dressed pretty similar and some were even more extreme! It was a lot of fun.

We hosted the Annual McBride Family Halloween Party this year. Kept it simple, but fortunately, we always have a great time!

My sweet boy
I had 2 wonderful experiences this past week that made me a proud Mama.
First, last Saturday, we were practicing with the Primary for the Primary program. I heard the Primary President tell Bradley to stand up because everyone else had stood up to sing a song. I looked over at Brad and he was crying. So I walked over and sat next to him and asked what was wrong. He told me he was feeling the spirit so strongly and it was overwhelming for him. It's not uncommon for him to become emotional.
So the next morning, Brad and I were alone and I asked him again why he had been crying.
Let's backtrack a little.
This is Brad's part for the Primary program: Our family is so grateful for the blessings of the Temple. 4 years ago, my parents brought my brother home from another country. He’d been born to another family, but it was part of Heavenly Father’s plan for him to be a part of our family. Because we had him sealed to us in the Mesa Temple, he will be part of our family for all eternity. I know my parents love me and are so happy to know that we will be together forever.
He told me he was thinking about what life would be life without Jared. It was the sweetest thing. They fight like brothers, but they do love each other.
Then, the other night I at a PTO meeting at the boys' school. A mom of one of the boys in Brad's class came up to me. Her son is new this year to the school, but knows Brad from baseball last season. She told me that her son had gotten his lunch and was headed to a seat in the cafeteria. At his usual table, all the seats were filled, so he ended up sitting at a table with a bunch of girls. Brad went over to him and told him he could come sit with him. So Brad and this boy walked over to Brad's table but there wasn't an open seat for this boy. Brad and this boy shared Brad's seat that they could sit together.
I told Brad that I was so proud of him. I told him that our Heavenly Father and Jesus were also very proud of him.

Happy 7th Birthday Jared!
Of course, Jared corrected me over the weekend, this is his 8th birthday, if you count the day he was born.

Jared is in the 1st grade. He is learning to love to read and is currently reading a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. He is a great swimmer and loves being in the water. His best friend is Max Burr, even though he only sees him once a year, at his birthday party. He loves to play video games, Bey Blades and Legos. He's really good at making people laugh and loves to act silly. Jared is a ball of energy and loves to dance, wiggle, and do karate (self taught after watching the movies Kung Fu Panda and Karate Kid).
5 years ago, Jared answered our prayers by becoming a member of our family. We wouldn't be complete without him. We're so blessed to have him in our lives.
