New Year's 2008

Once again, we spent New Year's at Scott's parent's house. We love going to visit them! This year, the whole family went. All of the kids and grandkids were there, except Marlena. We took a couple trips up to the mountain to play in the snow. It was warmer this year and so there wasn't as much snow around the house to play in. Here's a picture of my 3 oldest boys in their hats my Mom made them for Christmas.
Scott and I took a ride on the quad and nearly froze to death! When I got home, I had to check my ears to make sure they were still there since I couldn't feel them!! But I learned how to drive the quad and had fun! Our brother-in-law, Eric, was bound and determined to get us fireworks to ring in the New Year, since firworks are legal in New Mexico. We are so glad he was because we loved watching them! We set them off at around 7 pm for a few reasons. 1. The adults were too excited to wait, 2. We didn't want the kids to stay up until midnight and 3. Midnight would have been a heck of a lot colder than 7 Pm.

Jared fell asleep watching a movie, but Bradley actually did make it until midnight. I was impressed! He played games with his Dad and Grandpa. He did better than me, I went and took a nap from 10:30 to 11:45. But I still rang in the New Year!!

Sadly, the trip ended with a sad note. Jack started a fever on New Year's Eve and was very fussy for 2 days. We drove home on New Year's Day and I took Jack to Good Night Pediatrics that night. He had an ear infection, the poor thing. 2 days later, his first tooth popped through!

Here's a picture of my boys that's really cute!

My new bed

I'm not sure how many of you will ever go in my bedroom, but it's been very plain until recently. I'm not a very good decision maker when it comes to decorating. I have to stew over it for a while and even after I make a decision, it takes me a while to get used to what I have done to decide whether or not I like it. I knew I needed to find a comforter set before I could do anything else to decorate my bedroom. Finally, I found a comforter for my bed that I love! It was on clearance at Dillard's which makes it more appealing! Here's a picture.
It takes me way too long in the morning to make my bed, but it's worth it. Everytime I walk into my bedroom, I get a smile on my face. Now for paint and curtains! I suggested to Scott that we do a blue accent wall for behind the bed and then paint the other 3 walls tan, but then I don't know what color for the curtains. He wants to do all 4 walls tan and then do blue curtains.
What do you think?
Here's a side view.
