Annual Mesa Arizona Easter Pageant

We all thought my brother Danny was crazy for getting to the Temple at 2 pm to save seats for the Mesa Arizona Easter Pageant, when the show didn't start until 8 pm. But when it came showtime, we were so, so grateful to be so close. Jack was amazed at everything he saw. He loved the show and loved seeing Jesus. Both Jared and Brad got emotional at times during the performance that told the story of Jesus Christ's life, death and resurrection. Watching my children feel the Holy Ghost is an amazing, heart-warming thing.

I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, lives and that we can live again if we repent of our sins and follow his example.

Before the show started, some of the characters came out into the audience for pictures and to welcome us to the Temple.

This is us with one of the 10 virgins:

Us with 2 of Pilot's guards:

Jack had to pet the sheep

I remember that the man with the black beard is a rabbi, and that 2 of them are men who worked in the Temple, I can't remember who the other man was. But their costumes were amazing, such attention to detail!

We finally spotted a Roman soldier. We'd been waiting for them. Jack was upset he didn't get to hold the sword. After the show, he asked if we could go to the guard's house to see his sword. Too bad we didn't know where he lives.

Here are some pictures from the show. Sorry they're so fuzzy, but they're still great to me!

The 10 virgins

Jesus Christ blessing the children. He picks up a baby from the crowd and holds him up to see him. A very touching moment.

Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden

Angels singing that Jesus Christ was born.

Splash pad

We have this super fun splash pad in the neighborhood next to ours. The boys have been begging me to take them, so I surprised them yesterday. After picking them up from school, we drove straight to the park. They didn't know I had their swim suits packed for them!

Fun pictures of March

The Boys' cousin, Bryson, came to spend a few nights with us. We always have so much fun when he comes to visit.

Blue and Gold Banquet

Brad's first Blue and Gold Banquet was in Febuary. He'd earned his Bear and 3 arrow points! As the Den Leader, I was very proud of all my boys!

Here is the blue and gold cake I made for the occasion. (don't laugh)

Here are some fun pictures from the night:

Basketball 2011

Our boys played on basketball leagues this year. They both improved their game throughout the season and both made at least 1 basket. Jared got to be very good on defense and Brad's ball-handling skill got better and better. As usual, we are very proud of our boys.
Here are some pictures of Jared:

Jared had an amazing coach. The rest of the team was more experienced than Jared, but his coach never gave up on Jared. He was great at encouraging Jared and never let him give up. You can see him in this next picture, cheering him on.

Here are some pics of Brad:
(it looks like it's going to go in, I think it does)
