McBride Farm

I love that Scott works for the Federal government. That means that he gets all the Federal holidays off, including Civil Rights Day, which we just had this past weekend. So we took advantage of the 3 day weekend and went to visit Scott's parents at their new home. They were recently transferred to a farm outside of Rodeo, NM. They live in Az, just inside the border.

We were able to celebrate Grandma Diane's birthday while we were up there and the boys loved that. Jared asked, "Which present is mine?" Crazy kid. We always have a great time with them. Here are some pictures.

Church ball is dangerous...

Here's what happens when you slam an elbow into someone's eye:
(I made him smile in the picture so he didn't look too pitiful)
My poor baby was injured playing basketball at the church Saturday morning. He's doing fine, just embarrassed, he says he's told the story at least 100 times at church and work. We thought that maybe he could use a couple of stitches, but neither one of us wanted to sit in the emergency room for the dreaded waiting time we hear so much about. We're so greatful for our ward family, especially our neighbor who's a nurse. He took a look at it and told us it will be alright. So it's healing on it's own and looks better every day. Here's what it looked like Sunday night:
So then Jack hit it on accident Sunday night and it swelled up again. But the swelling is pretty much gone now. I think he'll be alright.
